Corporation Income Tax
General rate reduced to 14.5% in 2006, reduced to 14% in 2007 and 13% in 2008. Small business rate is reduced to 4.5% in 2006 and reduced to 3% in 2007.

Corporation Capital Tax
$5 million deduction (2003) budget will be increased to $10 million in 2007. For corporations with taxable paid-up capital between $10 million and $20 million, the capital tax rate will be 0.3% and over $20 million is 0.5%. In 2008, the 0.3% will be reduced to 0.2% and the 0.5% will be reduced to 0.4%.

Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit
35% tax credit against Manitoba corporate income tax payable. Credit is for new and used mfg buildings, machinery and equipment used directly in mfg process before July 1, 2009.

Manitoba Research & Development Tax Credit
20% non-refundable tax credit applied against Manitoba corporate income tax payable on approved scientific R&D expenditures by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

Health & Post Secondary Education Tax Levy
A Payroll Tax that is paid by employers on remuneration paid to their employees in Manitoba. Employers with total annual remunerations of:

  • $1 million or less are exempted
  • $1 to 2 million is 4.3% over $1 million
  • Over $2 million is 2.15% of the total payroll (the first $1 million is not a deduction)

Manitoba Equity Tax Credit
Encourages local investors to purchase new shares of qualifying small and medium sized publicly traded Manitoba companies.

 

Community Enterprise Development Tax Credit
30% personal income tax credit to s support local investment

 

Odour Control Tax Credit

 

It is a 10% nonrefundable corporation income tax credit for businesses that invest in capital to control nuisance odours that arise or may arise from the use or production of organic waste.
